Looking for a generous brunch in Paris' 7th arrondissement? We'll take you to Café Pierre Hermé's Beaupassage. Beaupassage is an open passageway, sheltered from cars, that reveals several gourmet spots. Among them is Pierre Hermé's tea room, with its indoor lounge and large terrace, ideal for sunny days.
Every Sunday, from 11.30 a.m. to 2 p.m. (make sure you book in advance, as it sells out fast), you can discover the generous brunch formula. It costs €65 per adult and €25 for children. It's a price, it's true, but the quality, like the quantity, is there for the taking, and if you're looking to treat yourself or your other half over a weekend, this is a very attractive option.
Brunch begins with an assortment of emblematic viennoiseries: Ispahan Croissant or Pain au chocolat et Pistache, accompanied by jams, flower honey or Infiniment Praliné Noisette spread. This homemade spread with its chunks of hazelnut is simply addictive, with a taste that's sure to keep you coming back for more.
A hot drink (coffee, tea, latte, drinking chocolate) and a fresh juice or detox juice accompany this first service, so it's off to a good start.
Secondly, you can choose between moist pancakes with maple syrup or granola, classic or Infiniment Chocolat, served with whole milk or plant milk (oat, almond). Obviously, since there are two of us, we choose both options. The granola is richly garnished with nuts and other seeds, giving it plenty of crunch, while the pancakes simply melt in your mouth.
As for eggs, the menu offers eggs Benedict (plain or salmon), boiled eggs and mouillettes, fried eggs, scrambled eggs or omelettes customizable with a choice of two ingredients: Comté 24 months, Paris ham, tomatoes, bacon, fresh herbs or button mushrooms.
Savoury dishes reveal Pierre Hermé's signature: Croque-Monsieur Pierre Hermé, Savoury waffle with smoked salmon, tangy cream and pomegranate, Avocado and egg yolk confit toast with pistachio vinaigrette, Savoury French toast with spices, Pierre Hermé-style beef burger with homemade chips, or a vegetarian dish of the moment.
For our part, we choose the eggs Benedicte, perfectly cooked and with a tangy sauce, and the astonishing savory French toast with asparagus as we pass by. White, green, cooked and raw asparagus with a soft toasted bread, we had a great time.
To round off the meal, dessert is a choice of an individual pastry from the display case, a plate of fresh seasonal fruit or three macaroons. A glass of Champagne Billecart-Salmon Rosé, a Satine Cocktail or an Ispahan Cocktail are available as extras to accompany this sweet moment.
For our part, we opted for the unmissable 2000 feuilles praliné and the Tarte infiniment vanille. Well, we admit it, the brunch was so generous that after the viennoiseries, tartines, pancakes, granola and main courses, we opted to take the pastries home to enjoy later.
Beaupassage's verdant, tranquil setting is the perfect place to enjoy a Sunday brunch. The service is top-notch, and you're sure to have a great, relaxed time.
