Top Chef France jury member, the very lovely Michel Sarran has been whetting the appetite of Parisians who were sorry they cannot enjoy his cuisine in the city of lights. But good news: the Toulouse chef is to soon come to Paris with a new street-food – but gourmet style – concept. Called Croq’Michel, this concept revisits croque-monsieur savory and sweet version.
This is the Toulouse chef’s very guilty pleasure. Inhabitants of the pink city have been already able to taste this gourmet concept when the first restaurant opened this December 26 and another one in February 2021 in Toulouse as well. As for Parisians, they will be able to enjoy Michel Sarran’s croque-monsieur very soon. Kickoff is scheduled on May 12, 2021 in a pop-up store set in Gare de Lyon Hall 2. Rumor has it, another – and definitive – spot is to open in Paris as well. But for now, no date has been announced yet.
Allow about €9 for a croque-monsieur Michel Sarran’s style. But what to expect, then? Very fresh and flavorful recipes! The Croq’Gascon for instance is based on duck confit, potato, sheep milk cheese, the Croq’Ibiza on chorizo, manchgo cheese, cream cheese, bell peppers, and basil… And there is even a recipe in tribute to the Parisian area, the Croq’Montmartre based on ham, Emmental cheese, sundried tomatoes, and fried onions. Vegetarians are not left out with the Croq’Veggie based on cow milk mountain cheese, carrots, zucchinis, and snow peas. As for the sweet version, you can choose one of the two very tasty creations: Banana-Praline or Apricot-Pistachio!
