Gourmet alert! Toulouse chef Michel Sarran is about to treat Parisians. As of this Wednesday, May 12, 2021, his concept of gourmet croque-monsieurs, called Croq'Michel, is coming to the capital. It's a family project he set up with his two daughters, Camille and Emma.

On Top Chef, the very likeable Michel Sarran tantalized the taste buds of Parisians who regretted not being able to find his cuisine in the City of Light. But good news: the chef from Toulouse is coming to the capital with a new concept of street-food elevated to gastronomic status.

Baptised Croq'Michel, the concept set up with his daughters Camille and Emma revisits the croque-monsieur in both savoury and sweet versions. It's a family business that symbolizes the Top Chef star's desire to pass onhis expertise. The inauguration of the Parisian counter took place in good spirits, with lots of emotion.

But why croque-monsieurs? This is one of the Toulousan chef's guilty pleasures. Inhabitants of the "ville rose" have already had the chance to sample this gourmet concept, with the opening of a first restaurant on December 26 and a second in February 2021, also in Toulouse.

As for Parisians, they too can now discover Michel Sarran's version of croques-monsieur. It kicks off this Wednesday, May 12, 2021, in an ephemeral boutique awaiting them in Hall 2 of the Gare de Lyon. There are also whispers that another address, this time a permanent one, is due to open in Paris. But no date has yet been announced.

For a croque-monsieur Michel Sarran's version, you'll need to spend around €9. So what can we expect? Fresh, flavorful recipes! The Croq'Gascon, for example, is made with duck confit, potatoes and ewe's milk cheese; the Croq'Ibiza with chorizo, manchego cheese, fromage frais, peppers and basil... there's even a recipe in honor of a Parisian neighborhood, the Croq'Montmartre, made with Emmental ham, sun-dried tomatoes and fried onions. Vegetarians won't be outdone, either, with the Croq'Veggie made with cow's milk cheese, carrots, zucchini and snow peas. On the sweet side, you can opt for two very gourmet creations: the Banane Praliné or the Abricot Pistache!
