This spot pays homage to the charm of Old Paris, reminiscent of the Belle Époque. Le Maresquier is the quintessential nostalgic restaurant just steps from Gare Saint-Lazare, where you can enjoy hearty and comforting French cuisine prepared with traditional flair under the guidance of Chef Arnaud Boissier. All set in a warm, inviting atmosphere. Here, it's not about avant-garde dishes, but a heartfelt salute to classic culinary traditions that truly honor the history behind the plate.
On the à la carte menu, beloved indulgences follow one after another, in a dance where local flavors, rustic tastes, and exceptional ingredients come together to create dishes that are both comforting and refined. If you enjoy the flavors of the forest, don’t hesitate to order the \nporcini mushroom tart, generously topped with mushrooms, provided it’s available on the menu.
We also couldn't resist the cream of the day, made with pumpkin. Just a heads-up: if you choose this thinking it’s a light option, it might be more filling than expected since it’s served with a generous drizzle of Isigny cream, along with Comté cheese and crispy toast.
For meat lovers, the Château Filet is a standout — a generous cut served with a classic pepper sauce that's sure to delight the palate. Just a heads-up: if you prefer your steak well done, be aware that during our visit, it was cooked more rare than requested. For those who prefer fish, the menu features several timeless highlights, including the renowned Sole Meunière.

For our part, we chose the seabass fillet Grenoble-style. It was perfectly buttered and lemony, with capers adding an extra burst of flavor. The fish was expertly cooked, with a slightly crispy skin revealing tender, flaky flesh. For an additional touch, you can choose from a side dish, such as flavorful spinach or a rich, creamy mashed potato.
Pricing at this restaurant is quite varied, providing some flexibility to keep your budget in check. Appetizers and desserts generally fall within the middle range for establishments of this caliber, while some main courses, particularly the meats and fish, can be more on the indulgent side. Overall, it's a great spot for food lovers eager to enjoy the classics of French cuisine in the proper way.
Every Thursday evening, the venue transforms into a lively piano bar. Rumor has it that guests sometimes even hop onto the piano while the musician plays—a glamorous scene that adds to the nostalgic charm of the place.

This establishment always offers a daily special, from starter to dessert. And if you still have room left for the final course, you'll find here some timeless classics. A shared crème brûlée makes for the perfect ending—bringing back childhood memories and wrapping up this timeless stopover on a sweet note!
