What a bad luck for tourists visiting Paris and wishing to have a go to the Eiffel Tower this Thursday August 2, 2018

A strike notice has been served by the CGT-FO joint union of the Eiffel Tower personnel for the Thursday August 2, 2018 that could lead to the closing of the Iron Lady…

Meeting this August 1 in a general meeting to decide about how the social movement could go on, employees voted and chose August 2 to protest against the organization of the reception of visitors.

Since early July, the proportion of tickets open to booking by time sloths increased. But according to the CGT-Tour Eiffel union, the organization set “by the Société d’Exploitation de la Tour Eiffel (SETE) generates sometimes monstrous queues” and “often totally disproportioned”.

CGT reproaches the board for dedicated the north pillar accessing the Eiffel Tower to the reception of visitors holding presales and the other pillar to all other visitors. To solve the problem, the union offers to allow you all to “access the two pillars” with “a priority line” for tickets bought in presale.

Talkings are still currently on between the board and the unions. “The SET does everything to maintain the Eiffel Tower open”, the press release reads.
