This Christmas won’t be a white one, and on Wednesday December 25, 2019, it’ll be rather pleasant to hit the streets in Paris. For this Christmas 2019, Sortiraparis editorial board lists Paris Monuments, Museums and zoos open. So that means you’ll find something entertaining for the whole family!
Zoos open on December 25, 2019:
Parc Zoologique de Paris: 10 a.m. - 5 p.m.
The Parc Zoologique de Paris offers a visit accross 5 biozones: Patagonia, Sahel-Sudan, French Guiana, Magagascar and Europe. These 5 zones recreate the natural environment of the 1000 animals living there.
Jardin d'Acclimatation: 10 a.m. - 6 p.m.
Did you know the Jardin d'Acclimatation was also a zoo and a theme park? Next to the 40 family attractions, we have 500 animals including tropical birds, goats, rabbits, mouflons covering 18 hectares of nature. And for the Holidays, the Jardin d'Acclimatation houses a very beautiful ice-skating rink.
Aquarium de Paris - Cinéaqua: 11 a.m. - 7 p.m.
COme and discover Paris Aquarium's 43 pools celebrating Christmas and providing many free entertainments (shows, workshops and diving Santa Claus) to make you enjoy an unforgettable family time!
Monuments open on December 25, 2019:
Eiffel Tower: 9:30 a.m. – 11 p.m.
Built for the World Fair 1889, the Eiffel tower was said to be dismantled in 1909, but the scientific experiments made possible because of its height saved it. On the 2d floor, the view is a must, you will discover the impressive panorama of Paris monuments (for Parisians, it’s a lovely reminding session but a fascinating discovery of the city for tourists).
Domaine de Saint-Cloud: 7:30 a.m. – 10 p.m.; museum from 3:30 p.m. to 6 p.m.
The hydraulic system enlivens the gardens with a temporary entertainment, that you will discover throughout a walk. All along the walk, the water goes from pools to fountain to spring out 30-m away at the Grand Jet before finishing its race in the whirling pool of the Grande Cascade, the highlight of the show to be seen in July and October only!
Château de Chamarande: 9 a.m-5 p.m.
Go discover the funny creatures of the Château de Chamarande from May 31 to December 30, 2018. Philippe Pasqua settles his Allegories, giant metal sculptures, in the garden... Wonderfu!
Montparnasse Tower: 9:30 a.m. - 11:30 p.m.
Enjoy views on Paris at 200 meters above the ground. Photocall with Santa Claus, waffles and even hot cocoa while enjoying views on Paris.
La Défense Grande Arche tower: 10 a.m.-6:30 p.m.
Find yourself 110 meters above the ground at La Défense featuring wonderful views over Paris and the western suburbs. And for the Christmas break 2019, La Défense Grande Arche welcomes a man-made ice skating rink covering 300sqm (you can rent skates for €3).
Château de Breteuil: 11:30 a.m. – 8 p.m.
Discover the history of the Château de Breteuil and its fantastic furniture thanks to the guided tours held all day long. In the afternoon, the castle story-tellers make you travel through Charles Perrault’s tales: Donkeyskin, Little Red Riding Hood, Puss in Boots…
Museums open on December 25, 2019:
The Atelier des Lumières: 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.
A new place to be discovered, the Atelier des Lumières is about to rock Paris 11th arrondissement with a Digital art center set in a former smelting plant from the 19th century. Walk a 2000sqm room and paintings by Van Gogh!
Musée Grévin: 11 a.m. - 7 p.m.
The Musée Grévin is the only place where you can meet Paris historic characters. From Henri IV to De Gaulle via Joan of Arc and François Hollande, you can discover Kings of France and current politcians and take pictures with stars.
The Musée de Montmartre - Jardins Renoir: 11:30- a.m. - 6 p.m.
The Musée de Montmartre is the window of the "old Montmartre" and promotes works related to the Parisian village and its painters, from Auguste Renoir to Emile Bernard without forgetting Raoul Dufy or Maurice Utrillo, in a house from the 17th century surrounded by gardens.
Arab World Institute: 10 a.m. - 6 p.m.
The Arab World Institute is for 30 years an incredible place to discover and understand the culture from Maghreb countries and countries from the Middle East.
Musée Maillol: 10:30 a.m. - 6:30 p.m.
The Musée Maillol doesn't own permanent collections. Currently displaying an exhibition devoted to the Naive artists from the Douanier Rousseau to Séraphine. The surrealist artist known for his primitive-inspired sculpture is highlighted along with 50 works from the Fondation Giacometti, in a beautiful tour you want to see!
Musée Jacquemart-André: 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.
In this beautiful private mansion purchased by Edouard André for his wife Nélie Jacquemart, we find the beautiful collection of art passionate, as well as their living place, left as it used to be, including the reception rooms, the music room and the dining room.
Espace Dali Paris: 10 a.m.-6:30 p.m.
Confidential museum in Paris, Espace Fali has been welcoming the greatest private collection of Salvador Dali's work for 25 years. After closing for 4 months for embellishment works, Espace Dali reopened with a new visit route, a new offer thought to revitalize the museum.
