La Cité du siècle Vert: a pop-up green area in Paris

La Cité du Siècle Vert, a 250-sqm green area set in Galerie Joseph in the heart of Paris, will be accessible for free from May 14 to 27: go green!

It’s the Union des Industries de la Protection des Plantes [Crop Protection Industry Association] – an association of professionals gathering 22 companies – who is the initiator of this big event since this year, it celebrates its centenary! What a birthday party: La Cité du Siècle Vert [The City of the Green Century] will be open to all and in free access right in the middle of Paris, at Galerie Joseph, under the sun of May. Crop health professionals will tell you everything about this century of history and innovation in terms of agriculture.

This Cité du Siècle Vert, entirely green, features a 11-step route returning on the evolution of the practices and the solutions to protect plants. It’s the occasion to learn a whole bunch of fun facts (did you know that in the 30’s, kids used to go chasing destructive insects instead of going to school? Or did you know that cyanide and arsenic used to be used for treating crops?).

Moreover, you can visit a scientific research lab, have a walk amongst Siècle vert market stands, attend to conferences and exchange with specialists, political figures and growers…

A wonderful idea for a spring instructive and playful outing!
