Invader invades the Eiffel Tower with his mosaics

You thought you knew everything about the Eiffel Tower? The Tower may yet surprise you! The Tower has a new decoration: the artist Invader has placed one of his mosaic aliens on this iconic Parisian landmark. Since Thursday November 7, you can go hunting for invaders on the floors of the Eiffel Tower.

The new work by French mosaic artist Invader should appeal to a wide audience. The French mosaic artist has installed his latest creation at the Eiffel Tower, to the delight of tourists and visitors alike. The little alien is called PA_1431. He is the 1431st invader to settle in Paris. He and his brothers are all indicated on a map, updated by the artist. By following it, you can set off on a great treasure hunt all over Paris, in search of the Invaders.

Invader, what's it all about? You've probably already seen one of his works without knowing who's behind it. The street artist has been installing his mosaics on the walls of over 70 cities worldwide for over 20 years. His inspiration comes from the Space Invader video game, released in 1978. The little pixelated aliens are part of the great invasion orchestrated by the French artist, who turned tostreet art to make art accessible to everyone.

The Eiffel Tower, too, wants to share works of art with all those who come to see it. In 2015, to mark COP 21, artist Obey installed a giant sphere between the Tower's first and second floors. In 2018, artist ZEVS illuminated the monument with his Eiffel Phoenix. As for the Invader extra-terrestrial, it's here to stay.
