Paris Carnival is back for its 24th edition. This year, it expects you on February 27, 2022, themed on antique worlds. Go get your costumes!

After being cancelled last year, the traditional Paris Carnival is back in town on February 27, 2022. For this 24th edition, let us meet over antique worlds. Get your costume out and join the colorful parade!

The Paris Carnival Promenade du Boeuf Gras usually parades on the Sunday before Mardi Gras. The parade leaves from the Place Gambetta in Paris 20th arrondissement. Meet from 1 p.m. before the parade starts at 2 p.m., heading to the Place de la République.

For the record, this carnival is a festive event that is free, voluntary, free of charge, traditional, independent, self-managed, not-for-profit and non-subsidized. Everyone is welcome! You do not have to sign up to be part of it. You can decide at the last minute to take part in it or not, you can follow the parade on a portion of the route or not. You can choose whatever spot you want in both processions. It is the real carnival not a street show.

And do not forget either that, on Sunday March 27, 2022, another traditional Paris Carnival parade: the procession of the Reines des Blanchisseuses at mid-Lent, the Carnaval des Femmes. Women are invited to dress up as queens and men in women, if they dare.
