Come aboard Marcel le canard, the sweet name of the Canards de Paris bus, France's only amphibious bus - meaning it can navigate on both road and water. Departing from the foot of the Iron Lady, the guide takes you on a cultural tour of Parisian and Alto-Seine heritage, as part of the tour takes place in the Hauts-de-Seine department.
What's on the program? You'll discover Paris's most famous landmarks, from the Invalides to the Eiffel Tower, including theArc de Triomphe, the Statue of Liberty and the Grand Palais, before taking to the water at Boulogne-Billancourt. Throughout the tour, Bryan (the guide) tells the story of Paris, punctuated by anecdotes, hymns to Paris Saint-Germain and quizzes. We learn that the Jardin du Ranelagh, in the 16th arrondissement, was the site of the first hot-air balloon flight with humans on board, that Paris boasts 5 Statues of Liberty and no fewer than 37 bridges...
This particularly fun tour of Paris costs €39 per person and €25 per child (aged 2 to 11). Pitchounes are accepted from the age of 2, but it's strongly recommended to wait a little longer - five years minimum - so that children can fully appreciate the cultural side of the tour. Please ensure that you are present 15 minutes before the start of the tour, otherwise you may not be able to board the vehicle.
Les Canards de Paris also offer other, more exceptional tours of Fontainebleau, Versailles, Meudon... Full details of these tours are available on the website. It's a great way to discover Paris and the Hauts-de-Seine department, both on the road and on the water!
