Red, blue, yellow Kapla blocks and towers everywhere: that’s the first thing you notice as you walk into the Centre Kapla in the 11th arrondissement. With its two rooms dedicated to building towers and structures using the famous little wooden planks, the Centre also offers construction workshops, birthdays and themed events, giving budding architects of all ages plenty to get excited about.
Here, Kapla is organized by age groups (4-6, 7-8, 9-10, 11 and up...), to ensure the builds match your children's motor skills. Because if the kids throw themselves into stacking tall towers with their small hands during the 90-minute workshops, it’s to demolish them again. "We break to rebuild; it’s a fleeting art," says one of the center’s facilitators.
Kapla is that little rectangular wooden plank we’ve all known from school, after-school care, or at home. Back then, it was a race to build the tallest tower, the strongest, the one that would last the longest... and truth be told, even generations later, Kapla still wins unanimous approval.
During the holidays, the Kapla Center welcomes you Monday through Saturday, from 9:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Normally, it’s open only on Wednesdays and Saturdays with the same hours. You can also host your child’s birthday party there, with building workshops, cake and candy included, starting at €300.
