Introduced into service in 1910, line 12 of the Paris metro crosses Paris from north to southwest, with the Mairie d'Aubervilliers terminus in the town ofAubervilliers, Seine-Saint-Denis, and the Mairie d'Issy terminus in Issy-les-Moulineaux, Hauts-de-Seine. It was one of the first lines to serve the inner suburbs of Paris. Over its 17km route, it serves 31 stations, crossing mainly the 6th, 7th, 8th, 9th, 15th and 18th arrondissements of Paris. It offers connections with several other Paris metro lines (lines 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 8, 10, 13 and 14), as well as RER lines(C and E), and connects with Gare Saint-Lazare and Gare Montparnasse.

Along line 12, you'll find many of Paris's most famous landmarks, including the Porte de Versailles exhibition center, which hosts numerous trade fairs and events throughout the year, the Musée d'Orsay at Solférino station, theAssemblée Nationale, Place de la Concorde, where you'll find theHôtel de la Marine, theMadeleine church, the Pigalle district and the Butte Montmartre (from Abbesses station).

Line 12 also has a number of theme stations. On the platform of the Concorde stop, for example, there's a mosaic depicting the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. Sports enthusiasts can also take the very long stairs at Abbesses station to discover frescoes depicting typical Montmartre landscapes.

    From January 4 to February 15, on Sundays from 10 p.m., traffic will be suspended on the entire line due to modernization work.
  • Metro 12: Modernization work - Other:

  • Metro 12: Modernization work - Service interrupted:
    From January 7 to March 11, on Wednesdays from 10 p.m., service will be suspended on the entire line due to modernization work.
  • Metro 12: Modernization work - Service interrupted:
    On January 8, starting at 10 p.m., traffic will be suspended on the entire line due to modernization work.
  • Metro Line 12: Modernization Works – Service Suspended:
    On January 22 from 10:00 PM onwards, train operations will be suspended along the entire line due to modernization work.
