Transport in Paris and Île-de-France: summer 2026 works on the metro, RER and tramway

As every summer, public transport in Paris and Île-de-France will be disrupted due to major modernization works. Unfortunately for users, these works are expected to affect the metro, RER, and tramway. Check out the detailed schedule and dates for these works, which are planned for June, July, and August 2026 on the RATP and SNCF networks.

Several sections of the metro will be temporarily closed to allow for modernization work. Lines 12 and 13 will undergo partial closures to prepare for the arrival of new trains or future automation of the line. Work on the infrastructure of line 4 is expected, while line 8 will lose its République station and also undergo modernization work.

As for the RER, summer 2026 will see several major operations on all lines except the E. As for the tramways, only lines T1 and T3b will be affected for most of the summer, in preparation for the arrival of future metro lines.
