Metro, RER, tramway...there will be a lot of work going on, which may disrupt your daily commute during June, July, and August. Here are the details of the2026 summer work plannedfor public transportation in Paris and the Île-de-France region.
Several sections of the metro will be temporarily closed to allow for modernization work. Lines 12 and 13 will undergo partial closures to prepare for the arrival of new trains or future automation of the line. Work on the infrastructure of line 4 is expected, while line 8 will lose its République station and also undergo modernization work.
As for the RER, summer 2026 will see several major operations on all lines except the E. As for the tramways, only lines T1 and T3b will be affected for most of the summer, in preparation for the arrival of future metro lines.
