Work on public transport in Paris and the Île-de-France region is far from over! New metro lines, automation, the arrival of new trains—these are just some of the changes that continue year after year.Île-de-France Mobilités has unveiled its schedule of service interruptions for 2026 through next August, and while most will take place in the summer, others will have a significant impact on users, particularly those on line 12.
In recent weeks, the line that carries passengers from Aubervilliers to Mairie d'Issy has often been interrupted on a small section in the south, between Montparnasse station and the terminus. And this situation is not going to improve, as line 12 is set to acquire the future MF19 metro trains, already in use on line 10, within the next few years, which will require some adjustments and modifications to the platforms.
The line will therefore be affected by evening closures, with service ending veryearly, at 10 p.m., two to three times a week, for at least four months, from January to April 2026. This will make nightlife much more difficult for those who use this line in the evening and will require some logistics to find other means of transportation. Specifically, the RATP has announced the first closures: every Wednesday and Sunday, as well as some Thursdays.
In addition, the date of May 31, 2026, has already been announced, and this Sunday will see traffic on line 12 interrupted between Porte de Versailles and Mairie d'Issy. As for summer works, the metro line is also affected, closed between Jules Joffrin and Concorde from July 16 to 26.
