ATTENTION: Due to the severe heat, the activities planned at Nelson Mandela Park on July 14, 2026 have been cancelled, with the exception of the aerial parade. The July 13 fireworks display is still on, along with the other events scheduled for that day.
It marks a milestone in French history. On July 14, 1789, the Revolutionaries seized the prison of the Bastille in Paris, toppling one of the symbols of royal power. Since then, every year, towns across France commemorate the occasion as the national holiday with a slate of festivities, from public dances and firefighters’ balls to the traditional fireworks. This is the case in the city of Courbevoie, located in the Hauts-de-Seine, on the left bank of the Seine.
So, fancy celebrating the 14 July on the banks of the Seine this year? Head to the town of Courbevoie, which, for this new Fête nationale, is offering a program that spans not one day but two days! The highlight: a fireworks display, launched from the Pont de Levallois.
The City notes: “To fully enjoy the July 13 fireworks in Courbevoie, take a spot 150 meters upstream or downstream of the bridge, on the Courbevoie side only (no access from Levallois) along the Quai du Maréchal Joffre, in secured zones that offer optimal visibility of the aerial bursts.”
