In Franconville, the 2026 National Day celebrations kick off on July 13 in Val-d’Oise with the traditional July 14 fireworks. However, following the publication of a prefectural decree, both the fireworks and the dance party have been cancelled.

Due to a prefectural order banning fireworks amid the high risk of wildfires, the town of Franconville has canceled its fireworks display and National Day dance party for 2026.

The festivities for the 14 juillet in Île-de-France remain one of the summer’s big moments, mixing fireworks, an open-air dance party, free activities and outings with family or friends. In Paris and across the Île-de-France towns, the Fête nationale invites everyone to enjoy a festive evening before looking up at the sky for the traditional pyrotechnic show.

You live in the 95 and you’re wondering what to do for the National Day this year? Usually celebrated on July 14, many events are organized the evening before across several municipalities in Île-de-France. This is notably the case in Franconville. The town of Val-d’Oise will pulse to the rhythm of the National Day on the 13 July 2026 and is lining up a meticulously crafted program for the occasion that you won’t want to miss.

But if you don't want to get bored during the day, you can visit the town and discover its little treasures, from the Château Cadet de Vaux, former estate of the scientist Cadet de Vaux, today a music school, to the eponymous park, a veritable urban oasis with an exceptional arboretum, or the Buttes du Parisis, 120 hectares of natural spaces with hiking trails, mountain bike tracks and picnic areas on Paris's green belt.
