Because of the orange heat-wave alert and a prefectural order banning fireworks across the Essonne department until July 15, the July 13 celebrations in Longjumeau have been canceled. A postponement of the event is currently under consideration, the town said.
In Essonne, tucked between the Templiers forest and the Yvette river, lies the town of Longjumeau. The commune boasts a rich history dating back to Gallo-Roman times. Its châteaux and grand estates recall that Longjumeau welcomed numerous noble families and experienced periods of great prosperity and activity from the Middle Ages through to the modern era.
The French Revolution helped this town gain in power: it was in 1790 that Longjumeau became the seat of its canton. And it is precisely to mark that revolution that the people of Longjumeau will gather this Monday, July 13, 2026.
For the Bastille Day 2026, the town in Essonne (91) unveils a fine program of festive activities. Meet at the Langrenay Sports Park to celebrate the 14 July in the Longjumelloise. We’ll share what to expect on site! Otherwise, you can also enjoy the activities offered in the neighboring towns or in the department, gathered in our dedicated guide.
