Every year, France marks the occasion of July 14th. Not surprising, since it's the country's national holiday! During this public holiday, the four corners of the country come alive to the rhythm of traditional celebrations, including fireworks displays, pyrotechnic shows of all kinds, popular balls, firemen's balls, torchlight processions and other festive events. A summer highlight not to be missed!
In Paris, the festivities include an impressive military parade and an iconic fireworks display from the Eiffel Tower, no less! And while the City of Light is sure to attract plenty of attention, the rest of the region is also in the thick of the festivities! All over the Ile-de-France region, numerous towns and cities unveil a festive program for the Fête Nationale, generally spread over July 13 and 14. For some, it's an opportunity to enjoy the celebrations close to home, while for others it's a chance to discover the treasures of the Paris region.
The Seine-Saint-Denis region is no exception, with a host of events to delight young and old alike. One example is the town of Gagny, which is also taking part in the festivities! If you're in this commune of 93, you can take advantage of the opportunity to stroll along the Dhuis aqueduct or admire the Bois de l'Étoile arboretum!
The 2026 National Day Program in Gagny, Seine-Saint-Denis (93)
Gagny marks France’s National Day each year with a morning patriotic ceremony and an evening fireworks display.
A TIME TO REMEMBER
At 9 a.m., the official ceremonies will open this special day. This moment of reflection will honor those who have contributed to our nation’s history and will help pass on to the younger generations the meaning of commitment and citizenship.
To deepen this commemorative spirit, a photographic exhibition set up on Place Foch will celebrate the women and men who keep local memory alive: flag bearers, veterans, elected officials, and volunteers who dedicate themselves to passing on republican values.
THE GINGUETTE VIBE
From 6:30 p.m., the mood shifts! Place Foch will turn into a true celebration space with the opening of the guinguette. A chance to share a drink, enjoy a good meal, reconnect with friends or family, and soak up a pleasant summer evening in the heart of town.
TIME FOR DANCE
From 8:30 p.m., the dance floor will come alive to the rhythms of the evening. Whether you’re just taking a few steps or dancing until dawn, everyone can enjoy a festive, intergenerational moment in a warm, welcoming atmosphere.
A SKY FULL OF STARS
