As July 14th approaches, the whole of France is in a festive mood. Not surprising, since it's the national holiday. This celebration is marked by festive events in every corner of the country! With fireworks displays, popular balls and other entertainment for young and old, the French are determined to mark the occasion.
In Paris, it’s a chance to catch the highlights of the celebrations, including the traditional military parade up the Champs-Élysées and the spectacular fireworks launched from the Eiffel Tower (the fireworks will be fired on July 13 this year).
While the City of Light is a real eye-catcher for the Fête Nationale, the rest of the Île-de-France region is no exception! If you're in the Val-de-Marne region, the town of Villeneuve-Saint-Georges has plenty of events planned for the whole family.
But before you go and watch the fireworks, you can also explore the surrounding heritage, including the Villeneuve-Saint-Georges fort, the Senlis mills and the Grosbois estate. All in all, a very full day to enjoy the Fête Nationale to the full!
