Is night falling earlier and earlier? Here’s at least one good reason to be glad! In Montmorency, in Val-d'Oise (95), the Christmas lights are about to shine once again. On Friday, November 27, 2026, from 6:30 p.m., the town will kick off the year-end festivities on Place Roger-Levanneur with an evening set to warm up the atmosphere even before December arrives.

To celebrate the switch to Christmas mode, residents are invited to enjoy a dance performance by L'Entracte, before exploring the streets in their festive lights. The mayor will also speak at the official launch of the Christmas lights.

This first event will set the tone for a packed month in Montmorency. On December 5, families can meet Santa Claus and enjoy several activities on Place Mendès-France, ahead of the Christmas market, running from December 11 to 13, in the Hôtel de Ville park. A free natural-ice skating rink will also be set up in the park until January 3, 2027.

But before the chalets and the ice skates, it’s time for the lights! Head to Montmorency on November 27 to see the town decked out for the holidays. After all, why wait until Christmas to shine?
