In Paris, Epiphany is a highly anticipated event, with exclusive king cake creations from top luxury houses, innovative works by celebrated pastry chefs, and the craftsmanship of talented bakers vying for the crown. This year, a new entry has caught everyone's eye: the King Cake from the Élysée Palace. Following its pâté en croûte and Christmas log, the official residence of the French President continues its culinary tradition with a flaky, buttery cake to savor this January.

Offered at the institution's café, the galette from the Élysée Palace has been crafted by Fabrice Desvignes, the Palace's head chef, a renowned Meilleur Ouvrier de France and Bocuse d’Or winner, accompanied by his team of pastry chefs. The recipe focuses on simplicity and quality: a filling of pure almond frangipane, delicately infused with Martinique rum and vanilla from Réunion.
Inside, an exclusive fève awaits the luckiest. Crafted in ceramic by the French manufacturer Colas de Clamecy—recognized as a Living Heritage Company—this charming piece depicts the façade of the Élysée Palace. A tasting experience that’s as delightful as it is collectible.
The galette is available until January 17, 2026, inclusive, at the Café of the Élysée Residence. The café is open Tuesday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. It is served at a price of 8€ per slice for on-site tasting, and 40€ for the whole galette to take away.
A traditional King’s Cake that highlights both the flavor and the craftsmanship behind it.
