The biggest event of the autumn season returns on September 20 and 21, 2025: get ready for another edition of the Journées du Patrimoine in Paris! As every year, this major cultural event takes over the capital for a weekend full of discoveries and surprises.
The Journées du Patrimoine give everyone the chance to visit fascinating, mysterious or unusual places. From behind the scenes at the RATP to the Museum of the History of Medicine, from the Printemps department stores to the Grand Rex and Parisian cemeteries, thousands of sites open their doors to curious visitors of all kinds.
But the main attraction of the Journées du Patrimoine is access to places that are usually closed to the public. During this September weekend, you can visit ministries such as the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of the Armed Forces, the Ministry of the Interior... And the Ministry of Overseas France.
Housed in theHôtel de Montmorin, a private mansion that has seen several lives since the 18th century, the Ministry of Overseas France is responsible for supporting the 12 territories located far from mainland France, in the Indian, Pacific, Atlantic and Antarctic oceans. It promises to be an interesting visit, but please note that reservations are required.
