In 2023, the RATP network said goodbye to cardboard t+ ticketbooks. While it is still possible to buy individual versions, they too will eventually disappear at the end of 2025. This move has been facilitated by the recent introduction of a single fare throughout the Ile-de-France region, enabling users to use only their Navigo or Liberté+ pass to travel on public transport.
In the meantime, what should you do if you have any cardboard tickets left? Take advantage of the next few months to use them, whether T+ or Origin-Destination, as you won't be able to get a refund or exchange them. They no longer exist for purchase, thanks to the one-way ticket, so you need to be careful, as the old rules apply. For example, with a T+, you can't take the train, but only the metro, streetcar, bus and RER in Paris.

From November 2025, it will no longer be possible to buy these tickets at all, either at the few stations that still offer them, or at ticket machines. Ile-de-France Mobilités therefore recommends switching to the new options, to ease the transition. According to Valérie Pécresse, they used to be more expensive on buses to"discourage purchase", but cardboard tickets will no longer be accepted on buses and streetcars from November onwards.
It's time to switch to dematerialized tickets, in particular the Navigo Liberté + or Navigo Easy pass, if you don't travel daily in the capital, also available on smartphones or connected watches. Please note that in the network's new stations, cardboard tickets are already unusable, as atOrly Airport, where the old validators simply don't exist.
