Transportation in Île-de-France is undergoing a revolution this September 2025. Between technological innovations and network modernization, Île-de-France Mobilités is announcing major changes that will transform the daily lives of Ile-de-France passengers from September to December. We take a month-by-month look at these changes, which promise to significantly improve transport services in the Paris region and its suburbs.
Île-de-France Mobilités focuses on two flagship projects. In the autumn, the new-generation MF19 metro will make its debut on line 10. This new metro is designed to be reliable, quiet and, above all, air-conditioned - a first that will change the game for Parisian commuters.

In December, it's time for Câble C1, Île-de-France's first cable car, which will link Créteil Pointe du Lac (terminus of line 8) to Villeneuve-Saint-Georges. A record-breaker: this future aerial tramway will be the longest in Europe in an urban area. With 11,000 passengers expected daily, it will run at an impressive rate, with a gondola every 23 seconds.
The Véligo service continues to win over Parisians, with over 400,000 requests for assistance in purchasing bikes since 2020, for a total of €150 million paid out. The fleet currently comprises 20,000 electrically-assisted bicycles and 1,000 cargo bikes, available for long-term rental from €40 a month (€20 at the reduced rate).
At the end of 2025, transport in the Paris region will undergo a profound transformation. With technological innovations, modernized equipment and improved service, we are witnessing a real transformation of the network, designed to improve the daily lives of millions of users. These new features are part of an overall modernization program that places the Paris Region at the forefront of innovation in public transport.
