Urban art enthusiasts, are you familiar with the Golden Street-art? Organized by the website trompe-l-œil.info, this annual competition highlights the most stunning murals in France as voted on by the public. In January 2026, the Golden Street-art revealed the 59 top urban artworks shortlisted this year, competing to be named the best mural created in the country in 2025 (and featured on the trompe-l-œil.info website).
On February 16th, the name of the Golden Street Art of the Year 2025 was announced. The winning piece was created by artist Flow in Calais, in northern France. Taking second place is a mural by Zag in Finistère. Rounding out the top three is a work by Studio Giftig in Boulogne-sur-Mer.
However, it's worth noting that a work from Île-de-France makes it into the Top 10, holding the 6th spot exactly. To see it, you’ll need to visit Aubergenville in the Yvelines. In this town, specifically on rue de la Gare, Alexandre Sarrat — known as Ma Touche Perso — created this piece titled La 4 CV. Crafted in August 2025 as part of the Grand Paris Seine & Oise Urban Community (or GPSO) project, the artwork features key elements of the town’s history, including Sainte-Thérèse Church, the Seine River, red bricks—and, of course, the 4CV, described by the street artist as an "industrial symbol of the Renault factory established in the area". He shares more about the piece on his social media.
Recall that online users were invited to vote on Facebook to pick their favorite artwork from a selection of 59 murals. Originally, 17 pieces located in Île-de-France, including four in Paris, were part of this initial list. However, after the online voting, only one of these managed to make it into the top 10 finalists.
If Ma Touche Perso doesn’t make it to the podium, it still ranks sixth in the contest for the most beautiful mural created in France. Congratulations to the artist! It’s worth noting that the final decision was based on a jury of nine photographers (accounting for 70% of the final score) combined with online votes from visitors on the website (30%).
