The legendary Montmartre district in Paris is gearing up for the 93rd edition of the Fête des Vendanges, a five-day spectacle. From Wednesday, October 7 to Sunday, October 11, 2026, locals and visitors alike will enjoy a packed program, including the Taste Trail, the ceremony for those who never proposed, and the grand parade.
But organizing this famous Paris event comes with consequences for motorists. Accordingly, the Paris Police Prefecture published on October 5, 2026 a order temporarily altering traffic on several streets in the capital’s 18th arrondissement.
In practical terms, all motor traffic will be banned on the evening of October 8 due to a running race, and then from 10 a.m. on October 10 for the grand parade. The bans affect several streets in Paris’s 18th arrondissement, “to ensure the smooth running” of the Fête des Vendanges de Montmartre as well as the “safety of participants and spectators.”
Thus, no motor vehicles may travel on October 8, 2026 from 6:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. in the following streets of the 18th arrondissement, "which form the race route":
Moreover, all motor vehicle traffic is also prohibited on October 10, 2026 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on the following streets in the 18th arrondissement, "which make up the parade route":
