To minimize inconvenience to users, RATP will provide alternative transport, such as special buses linking Gare de Lyon to Olympiades, with a frequency of 3 to 6 minutes during rush hours. Metro line 13 and RER B will also see their traffic levels increased.
According to Stéphane Garreau, director of the line 14 extension, the purpose of these interruptions is to"test the new autopilot system in a real-life situation", as reported by franceinfo. Despite the temporary inconvenience, these tests are essential to ensure theopening of the seven new stations and 14 additional kilometers next June, just before the Paris 2024 Olympic Games this summer.
