It's one of the most popular attractions in the Disneyland Paris parks: Big Thunder Mountain, or the Mine Train, was closed for several months between January and summer 2025 due to renovations. According to our sources, it will reopen shortly.

Disneyland Paris, the iconic theme park in the Seine-et-Marne region of France that transports us into Walt Disney's magical world, is undergoing a major transformation. As the theme park prepares to welcome a future area with a second lake and a second castle, this time inspired by The Snow Queen, as well as lands and attractions based on other masterpieces including Peter Pan and Rapunzel, existing attractions are also getting a facelift.

Following the renovation of It's a Small World , the doll-filled ride that takes us on a trip around the world to the tune of a melody that sticks in our heads, another iconic Disneyland ride has had to close for repairs. At the heart of Frontierland, the Mine Train (or Big Thunder Mountain) is probably one of the park's most popular attractions. An integral part of Frontierland's history, this roller coaster invites you to climb aboard a crazy train and ride through a mysterious mine. Since January 6, 2025, Big Thunder Mountain has remained closed to visitors, and the mountain that dominates Frontierland has been put to sleep while renovation work is carried out. According to our sources, the attraction will soon make a comeback: As of June 21, 2025, the Mine Train should be back in action.

After a few months of closure, the general public should be able to enjoy the famous attraction again, with a reworked décor. According to the press release issued by Disneyland Paris: "The Imagineers have carried out an in-depth study of the wood used in the attraction's décor and its station, with a view to replacing certain structures with new, more durable elements custom-made by Design & Delivery and Ateliers Centraux, and carefully painted to preserve the aged look of this gold-rush mine; certain emblematic décor elements on the mountain, such as the famous Mill Camp tower, and in the queue, will be refurbished."
