A number of major projects are due to come to fruition in Paris in 2025: a house for press cartoons, a memorial garden, new urban forests, but also a house for animals. In the Parc de Bercy - not far from the hedgehog care center in the Bois de Vincennes - this " Maison de l'Animal " will officially open its doors on February 4, 2025. With this new facility, the City of Paris wishes to address all those who want to learn more about the animals we encounter in the city, whether domestic or wild.
The Maison de l'Animal will be an opportunity for future visitors to improve relations between humans and animals, and also to care for and protect animals, by adopting good practices for living well with them.
To this end, the Maison de l'Animal will house a veterinary care access point, with open hours for people in precarious situations or without a home. Support will also be provided for the medicalization and care of dogs and cats.
To raise awareness of the animal cause, the Maison de l'Animal will be organizing a number of educational activities, including dog and cat training workshops, themed temporary exhibitions and school and extracurricular activities.
Finally, to support animal protection, forums for dialogue and debate will be organized in close collaboration with a number of associations, on issues such as abandonment and mistreatment.
Note that the Maison de l'Animal, which will of course be open to pets, will open its doors on February 4, 2025. Please note that the site will not be open permanently. It will welcome visitors during the first week of each month, from Monday to Saturday, 10am to 6pm.
