Semi de Paris 2025: parking and traffic restrictions around the half-marathon

Runners are in the starting blocks for the new edition of the Semi de Paris, scheduled for Sunday March 9, 2025! In view of the popularity of this race every year, the Préfecture de police de Paris has issued a decree temporarily modifying parking and traffic restrictions in several Parisian thoroughfares. Before the big marathon race on April 13, running enthusiasts have a date with the Semi de Paris on Sunday March 9, 2025. At 21.0975 km in length, the Paris Half Marathon will take in some of the capital's legendary districts, including Boulevard Saint-Germain, the banks of the Seine, the Bibliothèque Nationale de France, the Château de Vincennes, Hôtel de Ville, Rue de Rivoli and Place de la Bastille.

In view of the large number of participants expected in this major foot race, the Paris Prefecture de Police issued a decree on February 28, temporarily modifying parking and traffic regulations in several Paris thoroughfares. The aim? To ensure " the smooth running " of this sporting event.

In detail, the parking of " any type of vehicle " is prohibited:

  • From 6 p.m. on March 7, 2025 to 7 p.m. on March 9, 2025, in the following streets in the 12th arrondissement :
    • rue de Lyon, from avenue Daumesnil to avenue Ledru-Rollin ;
    • rue Biscornet ;
    • rue Lacuée ;
    • boulevard de la Bastille, from quai de la Rapée to rue Jules César;
    • avenue Daumesnil, from rue de Lyon to avenue Ledru-Rollin.

  • From March 7 at 6pm to March 9 at 3pm, on boulevard Saint-Germain, in the 5th arrondissement.

  • From 6 p.m. on March 7 to 3:30 p.m. on March 9, in the following sections of the 12th arrondissement in Paris and Charenton-le-Pont (Val-de-Marne):
    • avenue de Gravelle, between numbers 8 and 12 ;
    • avenue Daumesnil, between numbers 208 and 225;
    • avenue de la Porte de Charenton, between numbers 14 and 19;
    • boulevard de Reuilly, between numbers 5 and 45.

  • From 6 a.m. on March 8 to 5 p.m. on March 9, on boulevard Bourdon in Paris Centre, between numbers 31 and 41.

  • From March 8 at 11pm to March 9 at 5pm, at the cab rank opposite the Opéra Bastille (12th arrondissement).

In addition, " all types of vehicles " are prohibited:

  • From March 8 at 11pm to March 9 at 5pm, in the following streets and sections of streets in central Paris:
    • Pont de Sully ;
    • boulevard Henri IV, from quai de Béthune to quai d'Anjou ;
    • boulevard Henri IV, from pont de Sully to quai des Célestins.

  • From March 8 at 11pm to March 9 at 3pm, on boulevard Saint-Germain (5e), from pont de Sully to boulevard Saint-Michel.

  • From March 8 at 11pm to March 9 at 5pm, place de la Bastille (12e), on the outer roadway between rue du Faubourg Saint-Antoine and rue Saint-Antoine.

  • From March 8 at 11pm to March 9 at 8pm, place de la Bastille (12th district), on the inner roadway between rue Saint-Antoine and rue du Faubourg Saint-Antoine.

  • From 11 p.m. on March 8 to 7 p.m. on March 9, in the following streets and sections of streets in Paris Centre and 12e:
    • rue de Lyon, from place de la Bastille to avenue Daumesnil ;
    • rue Biscornet ;
    • rue Lacuée ;
    • avenue Daumesnil, from rue de Lyon to avenue Ledru-Rollin ;
    • boulevard de la Bastille;
    • cycle paths on boulevard de la Bastille and boulevard Bourdon.

  • From 11pm on March 8 to 5pm on March 9, boulevard Bourdon in Paris Centre.

  • March 9 from 6am to 3pm, in the following lanes and potions of lanes located in Paris Centre and 6e:
    • Quai des Célestins ;
    • Boulevard Morland ;
    • Quai Henri IV ;
    • Quai de la Tournelle ;
    • Quai de Montebello ;
    • Quai de Béthune.

  • On March 9, from 6 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., in the following streets and sections of streets in Paris Centre, 12e and Charenton-le-Pont:
    • avenue de Gravelle ;
    • Route de la Pyramide ;
    • avenue de la Porte de Charenton, from route des Fortifications to avenue de Gravelle ;
    • boulevard de Reuilly, from rue Dubrunfaut to rue Taine ;
    • esplanade Saint-Louis.

  • On March 9, from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., in the following streets and sections of streets in Paris Centre, 5th, 11th, 12th, 13th and Charenton-le-Pont, which " form the race route":
    • boulevard Saint-Germain ;
    • quai Saint-Bernard ;
    • place Valhubert ;
    • quai d'Austerlitz ;
    • quai de la Gare ;
    • quai François Mauriac ;
    • pont de Tolbiac, except for a lane reserved for coaches going to the Paris-Bercy Seine bus station, in the direction from quai Panhard et Levassor to quai de Bercy ;
    • rue Joseph Kessel ;
    • rue de Dijon ;
    • place Lachambeaudie ;
    • rue Proudhon ;
    • rue de Charenton ;
    • avenue de la porte de Charenton ;
    • avenue de Gravelle ;
    • route du Pesage ;
    • route de la Tournelle ;

    • carrefour de la Ferme de la Faisanderie ;
    • route de la pyramide ;
    • esplanade Saint-Louis ;

In addition, the Préfecture de Police de Paris specifies that " the exit ramps of the outer ring road at Porte de Charenton and the inner ring road at Porte Dorée, as well as rue Robert Etlin and the turnaround in the Paris - Province direction, from the Bercy interchange and boulevard Poniatowski, will be closed to traffic on March 9, 2025 from 7am to 2pm ".

Vehicles " used to commit these offences may be immobilized and impounded ", warns the Prefecture in its decree.
