Reasons for the closure of the A86 duplex on Wednesday night

The A86 duplex, a 10 km toll tunnel linking Rueil-Malmaison (Hauts-de-Seine) to Vélizy-Villacoublay (Yvelines), will be closed to night-time traffic on the night of August 6 to 7, 2025, from 9 pm to 6 am. The reason? The Direction régionale des routes d'Île-de-France (Dirif) is carrying out work in the vicinity of the tunnel.

Commissioned in 2011 and used every week by some 55,000 vehicles, this entirely underground tunnel is regularly closed at night for routine maintenance, to guarantee user safety in the event of fire, for example. During this night of work, alternative routes are offered to motorists, even though Vinci Autoroutes reports that only 5% of normal traffic circulates in this time slot.
