La Trattoria di Bambini, the Italian restaurant at the Abbaye des Vaux de Cernay Farm

Tucked away in the Haute Vallée de Chevreuse, Trattoria di Bambini is the new Italian restaurant on the grounds of theAbbaye des Vaux de Cernay and, more specifically, on the Ferme de l'Abbaye, a nature hotel offering a dolce vita experience surrounded by animals. We're off to the Yvelines, between Auffargis and Cernay-la-Ville, to discover this new gourmet spot, open to all from Thursday to Sunday for dinner, and on Saturday and Sunday for lunch. But don't forget to reserve your table.

You'll arrive in a relaxed setting, in the middle of a former farm converted into a disconnected hotel, surrounded by animals. Chickens in the open air, donkeys, goats - the setting is set.

The restaurant, located in the main building, boasts large bay windows and a pretty terrace, ideal for lunch in the sun or letting the kids run around. The dining room is welcoming, with hanging wicker baskets and lampshades providing a cosy atmosphere in the evening. The light-filled dining room features a fireplace, an old-fashioned counter and a bread oven where wood-fired pizzas are prepared.

La Trattoria di Bambini offers generous, friendly Italian cuisine. It forms part of the Domaine's gastronomic offering, which already includes the Réfectoire des Moines and Les Chasses . Designed with families in mind, the restaurant features authentic Italian cuisine with a focus on sharing and simplicity.

The menu features a variety ofantipasti, including stracciatella with basil, tomato-mozzarella arancini and vitello tonnato. Pasta lovers will delight in mafaldine with truffle or trofie with pistachio pesto.

For our part, we highly recommend the pizzas, which are delicious. From the classic Margherita to the Tartufo with truffle cream, not forgetting the four-cheese, which we loved, there's plenty to keep you entertained. As for desserts, the ultra-gourmand tiramisu, Neapolitan doughnuts and homemade gelati bring the meal to a sweet close.

Children are also catered for, with a dedicated menu including pizza or rigatoni, accompanied by chocolate doughnuts or ice cream. On Friday and Saturday evenings, the atmosphere is enhanced by the presence of a guitarist, adding a musical touch to the culinary experience.

In short, if you're looking for an Italian restaurant in the Yvelines, in a natural and historic setting, Trattoria di Bambini at theAbbaye des Vaux-de-Cernay could well appeal to you. We're on the higher end of the price scale here. Although we weren't completely convinced by the pasta, the pizza was really delicious and the tiramisu very tasty. Whether with family or friends, this is an address worth noting.
