Summer roadworks are back on public transport in the Paris region! After last year's Olympic Games, which avoided any problems, RATP and SNCF are back at it again, taking advantage of the absence of many Parisians to cut some sections of the metro and RER lines for a few days. In the meantime, those staying behind for work or tourism will have to find alternatives and make do, notably on line 8, which will close from August 18 to 31, 2025 on only part of its route.
Among other things, this closure is to allow for the future arrival of the MF19, the new rolling stock on the line, which will require some changes to the metro stations to accommodate it. This modernization of the network will affect the line between Concorde and Reuilly-Diderot, with 15 stations closed for almost two weeks, all located in tourist areas of the capital! On the west side, the line will only run between Balard and Concorde, and on the other, between Reuilly-Diderot and Créteil Pointe du Lac.
Passengers are invited to transfer to lines 1 and 9 for the duration of the disruption, which will affect Madeleine, Opéra, Richelieu - Drouot, Grands Boulevards, Bonne-Nouvelle, Strasbourg - Saint-Denis, République, Filles du Calvaire, Saint-Sébastien - Froissart, Chemin Vert, Bastille, Ledru-Rollin, Faidherbe - Chaligny stations.
