How many people will take to the streets on May 13, 2025? For the time being, the question remains open. But several unions are calling for a public service strike this Tuesday. Their aim? To defend working conditions, demand an end to the one-day waiting period and maintain full pay for ordinary sick leave ", explains the CGT Fonction Publique in a press release published on May 9.
To defend the rights of civil servants and protest against " austerity policies that undermine public services ", the CGT civil service federations, together with the UNSA, FSU, Solidaires and CFE-CGC trade unions, are calling for a strike on May 13. Our colleagues in Le Parisien point out that crèches could be affected, as could school transport and school catering services.
In France, several rallies have been announced. In Paris, a demonstration is scheduled for May 13. So, what is the announced route of this mobilization in the capital? The procession will set off at 2pm from the Place du Bataillon du Pacifique in Bercy, not far from the Ministry of the Economy, in the 12th arrondissement. According to an order issued by the Préfecture de police de Paris, the demonstration will then head for the Quai de la Râpée, then the Boulevard de la Bastille and the Rue du Faubourg Saint-Antoine, before reaching the Place de la Nation, the final stop on the Parisian march.
It remains to be seen whether or not civil servants will respond to this call in large numbers. We recall that a first mobilization gathered 1.6% of strikers on April 3.
