Feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe: where to celebrate the Mexican saint in Paris churches?

Our Lady of Guadalupe, the patron saint of Mexico, is celebrated between December 12 and 14 in the capital with festive masses and music. Which churches will pay tribute to her this year?

Every December 12 in Mexico, the local saint, Our Lady of Guadalupe, is honored on a feast day with numerous festive masses held throughout the country. In Paris, expatriates from Mexico and other Latin American countries gather around this image of the Virgin to celebrate her with mariachi musicians, around hymns such as " Las Mañanitas " and " La Guadalupana ".

Last year, the celebration coincided with the reopening of Notre-Dame Cathedral in Paris. Sincethe end of World War II ,Guadalupe has had its own chapel in the monument. All you have to do is find it during your next visit!

In 2025, come toSaint-Eugène Church in the 9th arrondissement to commemorate the apparition of the Virgin to Saint Juan Diego Cuauhtlatoatzin in 1531 in Mexico. Other masses may be added in the coming weeks!

The program

Sunday, December 14 at Saint-Eugène Church

  • 3:00 p.m. - Welcome to the faithful.
  • 3:45 p.m. - SolemnMass in honor of the Virgin of Guadalupe. Readings and sermons in Spanish and French. Fer Machado accompanied by her mariachis will sing Las Mañanitas and La Guadalupana.
  • 5:00 p.m. - The party continues to the sound of mariachis at Espace du Bon Berger. Mexican food by caterer Monsieur Cactus.
