After a first fire in Goussainville (95), a second release of black smoke was observed in the Paris region in the early evening of Thursday July 3, 2025. What's going on?

If you have a clear view of Paris and its surroundings on Thursday, July 3, 2025, then you may have noticed the black smoke rising into the sky at the end of the day around 7pm. This anomaly suggests that a fire is in progress. The day had already been marked a few hours earlier, in mid-afternoon, by a first impressive fire declared in a metal recycling center for corporate waste located in Goussainville, in the Val d'Oise region, and close toRoissy-Charles de Gaulles airport.

This new release of smoke in the late evening is in turn raising questions from Internet users, as evidenced by the reactions on social networks. This time, it comes from the west of the capital, around Issou. According to the SNCF, a fire has broken out near the tracks of line J, near the town of Issou, in the Yvelines département (78), not far from Mantes-la-Jolie. Traffic on the transilien line is therefore interrupted, for the time being, until 8.30pm. At this stage, the cause of the incident is still unknown.
