Summer in Paris is finally here, and the capital is taking on the air of a seaside resort with the opening of various swimming andwater sports sites, including in the Île-de-Fance region. Among the must-see sites are Paris Plages and L'Été du Canal. Instilling an air of vacation in the Paris region, these summer events are the perfect way to cool off and discover the spirit of La Dolce Vita in Paris, to the delight of young and old alike.
Indeed, it's possible to enjoy water activities in the capital and even, from this summer 2025, to swim in the Seine. For the2025 edition of Paris Plages, a new swimming spot has been created on the banks of theÎle-Saint-Louis, an idyllic setting offering a beautiful panorama of historic Paris.
For the 2023 edition of this summer event, the Bras Marie nautical base offered canoeing and kayaking on the Seine. For the summer of 2025, Parisians of all ages will be able to take a plunge in the river. This site is different from the basins we already know at La Villette or the Canal Saint-Martin. This time, the area is demarcated by buoys, so you can enjoy a fairly authentic setting. On the other hand, the current can be quite strong, so you'll need to have some basic swimming skills to enjoy the swim to the full. Boat traffic is not permitted during the site's opening hours.

Open free of charge from July 5 to August 31, 2025 (Monday to Saturday, 8:00 am to 11:30 am and Sunday, 8:00 am to 5:30 pm), the bathing area is 70m long and 20m wide, and can accommodate 150 people simultaneously. The site is also accessible to people with reduced mobility, and features Paris Plages facilities, including a relaxation area, lockers and outdoor showers.
