Born of the conversion of the former Chapelle railway station, a new district called Chapelle International is breathing new life into seven hectares in the 18th arrondissement. This sustainable city laboratory combines housing, cultural facilities, urban agriculture and innovative logistics, to be discovered at a neighborhood party on July 10.

Continuing the slow metamorphosis of La Chapelle for the Olympic Games, a new district has sprung up in the 18th arrondissement, on the seven-hectare site of theformer La Chapelle station, thanks in part to Espaces Ferroviaires, which is breathing new life into railway sites"no longer used for operational purposes, and developing them to create the city of tomorrow". The project is set to transform the area from top to bottom, and is already set to welcome some 6,000 residents and shopkeepers by 2020.

Known as Chapelle International, it features 1,100 housing units, a vegetable garden on the roof of the Eva Kotchever nursery and elementary school, where the Veni Verdi association introduces visitors to urban agriculture through events and workshops throughout the year, and the Square du 21 avril 1944, a green space and playground for children, rooftop sports fields, a crèche, a gymnasium, a cultural facility dedicated to the fine arts and amateur artistic practices, and Plantation Paris, one of the largest urban farms producing fresh fruit and vegetables on the roof of the logistics hotel.

The long building that separates the district from the railroad line is thus an urban logistics building that provides access to new services, including heating via a local heat loop independent of the Paris grid.

On July 10, 2025, you're invited to discover the building at a major neighborhood party starting at 4:30pm, with a live band, food stalls and activities for all.
