A new milestone has been reached for the Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines leisure island, with the adoption of a public service delegation by the Île-de-France Region on July 9, 2025. With an investment of €51.8 million, this ambitious project aims to transform this strategic site into an essential destination for nature, sport and relaxation.

A press release from the Ile-de-France region announces that the Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines leisure island is entering a new era with the implementation of a transformation project led by a consortium includingUCPA, SEM Île-de-France Loisirs, DALIA SAS and Bluegreen.

In response to the withdrawal of the former members of the management syndicate, the Île-de-France Region took over the reins and launched a public service delegation to relaunch this emblematic Yvelines site, with the aim of making it a benchmark destination in the western Paris region.

What does the transformation project involve?

The program is ambitious: over 35 activities will be offered to attract up to 900,000 visitors a year. The site will benefit from a complete overhaul of its current facilities, such as the golf course, equestrian center and water sports center, as well as the creation of completely new facilities. Key projects include

  • A renovated accommodation center and a 4* eco-lodge-type residential leisure park,

  • A training center for sports professions and a national benchmark in snowshoeing,

  • VELOLE, a space dedicated to cycling, designed as an innovation laboratory,

  • New open-access facilities: indoor city stadium, playgrounds, picnic areas and street workout areas.

Which investments for which objectives?

The allocated budget amounts to 51.8 million euros, of which 16.9 million is directly financed by the Île-de-France Region. The plan is part of the regional strategy dubbed "Reinventing Leisure Islands", designed to ensure their attractiveness, sustainability and accessibility. Since 2016, over 200 million euros have been invested regionally to renovate these public spaces.

What place for the Olympic legacy?

This revival comes in apost-Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games context, in which several Ile de Loisirs in the Paris region have played a central role. As such, the Region plans to apply for funding dedicated to theOlympic legacy, in particular to strengthen the resilience of sites such as the Vaires-Torcy leisure island, despite a drop in visitor numbers in 2024.

By redefining the vocation of these sites, the Region is asserting its ambition: to make the leisure islands veritable green lungs, accessible, dynamic and sustainable for all Ile-de-France residents. All we have to do now is wait to see the revival of the leisure park that enchanted us during the Olympic Games.
