This year, COP30, the Conference of the Parties on climate change, takes place from November 10 to 21, 2025 in Belém, in the heart of the Amazon. This natural region of Latin America is home to the famous Amazon rainforest. Considered the world's greatest reservoir of biodiversity, it is now directly threatened by global warming.
Six weeks ahead of COP30, and in response to a call from the indigenous peoples of Latin America, an "unprecedented" global mobilization is being organized this autumn in over 30 countries. The aim? To demand climate justice, demilitarization and an in-depth transformation of economic systems ", reads a press release issued by Friends of the Earth.
Following a series of actions organized around the world from September 15 to 28, 2025, " Marches des Résistances pour le Climat, la Justice et les Libertés " will take place in Paris and elsewhere in France on Sunday, September 28. For the moment, we don't yet know the exact location of this mobilization, but the objective is clear. " Faced with the worsening climate crisis, the rise of authoritarianism and the explosion of inequalities, movements from all four corners of the planet have decided to say stop - it's time to put an end to this spiral of destruction and build a just and liveable future ", it says in the same press release.
At this stage, several associations and organizations have already confirmed their support for this global mobilization on September 28 in Paris, including 350.org, ActionAid France, Action Justice Climat, Alliance Écologique et Sociale, Alternatiba, Les Amis de la Terre France, Attac, Ghett'up, GreenFaith, Greenpeace France, Les Impactrices.
