November 11 has been a public holiday since 1922: it is officially dedicated to commemorating World War I and honoring the memory of those who fought and died in the war. Traditionally, mayors and veterans' associations invite citizens to gather in front of the town's war memorials. In Paris, the President of the Republic lays a wreath at the foot of the statue of Georges Clemenceau, before paying his respects at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier underthe Arc de Triomphe.

At 8:30 a.m. at City Hall
The residents of Neuilly are invited to come together in large numbers to publicly show their gratitude to our fallen soldiers. Ceremony program:
8:30 a.m.: Gathering of the Municipality, the Municipal Council, civil and military authorities, the Municipal Youth Council, the Amiral de Joinville Naval Military Preparation program, and Flotilla 33F at City Hall to lay a wreath in front of the names of Neuilly residents who died for France.
The commemoration will continue at the Police War Memorial on Place Winston Churchill, then at the City War Memorial on Place Raymond Poincaré.
The procession will then proceed to the old cemetery and then to the new cemetery to visit the graves of French and British soldiers, followed by a visit to the American Legion Mausoleum.
- Rueil-Malmaison
Commemoration of November 11, 1918, and 100th anniversary of the Danish Monument

Tuesday, November 11: Armistice Day commemoration ceremony and charity rugby match between armies
Guillaume Boudy, mayor of Suresnes, and the municipal team will participate in the official ceremony commemorating the end of World War I. A solemn interfaith gathering will take place at 10:30 a.m. at the municipal restaurant at 8 rue Gambetta, followed by a wreath laying ceremony at the Voltaire Cemetery at 11 a.m.

Charity rugby match between armies
Suresnes, a rugby stronghold, will host the Army and Navy rugby teams for a historic match on November 11. This match, in support of those wounded while defending France, both at home and abroad, is part of the annual Foch Ronarc'h Challenge. The awards ceremony will take place at 5:00 p.m. in the presence of the Chiefs of Staff of the Army and the Navy.
All proceeds will be donated to associations that care for the wounded and their families.

Veterans Day 2025
On Tuesday, November 11, at 2:30 p.m., a public ceremony will be held at the American Cemetery in Suresnes. Organized by the American Battle Monuments Commission (ABMC), it will pay tribute to American soldiers who fell during the world wars.
