Due to severe weather conditions and heavy snowfall on Wednesday, January 7, 2026, service on the RER C has been temporarily halted, along with disruptions on lines N, U, and V of the Transilien network. Here's the latest update on the situation.
This Wednesday, January 7, 2026, starting around 7 a.m., heavy snowfall is enveloping Île-de-France, blanketing the ground and rooftops in a stunning white layer. Météo France has issued an orange alert for "snow and ice" until approximately noon.

However, this beautiful winter scene is not without consequences for residents relying on public transport in Paris and Île-de-France. Since this morning, disruptions have been reported on several lines of tram, RER, and Transilien services.

This is the case for Transilien Line N. Serving western Île-de-France, from Paris-Montparnasse to Mantes-la-Jolie, Dreux, and Rambouillet, the line is currently suspended due to severe weather conditions and heavy snowfall. All traffic on Line N has been halted, with service expected to resume around 2 p.m.

Similar disruption on the U line, with completely halted traffic until 2 p.m. On Transilien's V line, conditions are also challenging, with trains stopped between Versailles Chantiers and Massy-Palaiseau in both directions, until around noon.

Disruptions are also reported on other parts of the Transilien network, including lines J, P and R.

On the RER network, trains are running at a snail's pace across the board. The RER C line is the most affected, with service disrupted between St-Quentin en Yvelines and Viroflay Rive Gauche in both directions until 2 p.m. Elsewhere on the line, service remains "perturbed".

Additionally, tram service on the entire T4 line is suspended until 1 p.m.
