Two departments in Île-de-France placed on yellow alert for "rain-flooding" this Friday

Currently, seven departments across France are under a Météo France yellow alert for "rain-flooding" for Friday, February 13, 2026. These include Vendée, Maine-et-Loire, Indre-et-Loire, Loir-et-Cher, and Loiret, as well as two Île-de-France departments. But which ones are they? Which departments in Île-de-France are on yellow alert today due to heavy rainfall and potential flooding? The Seine-et-Marne and Essonne departments are affected by this alert.

According to Météo-France, the heaviest rainfall amounts are expected in the Seine-et-Marne (77) and Essonne (91) departments starting at 3 p.m. on February 13. According to Météo France, " heavy rainfall can have serious consequences for the safety of people and property. It may lead to flooding caused by runoff or overflowing rivers." Additionally, motorists are urged to exercise the utmost caution during heavy rain. " Even moderate rain can reduce visibility and make it harder for drivers to see and be seen," warns the weather service. They also emphasize that " driving at high speeds increases the risk of hydroplaning and the danger involved."

Floods and Heavy Rain: How to Protect Yourself

  • Move away from rivers and streams, head to higher ground or seek shelter upstairs
  • Avoid driving on flooded roads
