RER C: disruptions announced this Saturday due to a bomb-disposal operation

Because of a planned mine-clearing operation in Val-de-Marne on July 25, 2026, Transilien SNCF is announcing disruptions on the RER C. Service partially interrupted, stations not served... here is what RER C passengers can expect this Saturday.

A tough period for users of the Île-de-France and Paris public transport. This summer, major works are underway on certain lines of the metro, RER, Transilien and tram to upgrade the networks. On the RER C, service is interrupted from July 15 to August 22 between Gare d'Austerlitz and Versailles Château Rive Gauche / Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines and Pontoise.

But these summer works on the RER C line are not the only disruptions to daily life for passengers. This Saturday, July 25, 2026, travelers will also have to adapt because of an bomb disposal operation in Val-de-Marne. Following the discovery of an air-dropped World War II bomb in the Choisy-le-Roi area, a major security perimeter will be established this Saturday, triggering the evacuation of residents as well as disruptions to public transport.

"For security reasons and at the request of law enforcement", the RER C traffic is therefore interrupted this Saturday from about 9:30 a.m. to 3:15 p.m., between Vitry-sur-Seine and Pont de Rungis and then between Vitry-sur-Seine and Juvisy. As for the Choisy-le-Roi station, it will not be served from 8 a.m. As for the stations Les Ardoines, Les Saules, Villeneuve-le-Roi, Ablon and Athis-Mons, they will be served by regular buses, but with "a risk of heavy congestion", notes Transilien SNCF.

Meanwhile, the Prefect of Val-de-Marne says that the tram line T9 will run only between Porte de Choisy and the Verdun-Hoche stop, which will be its temporary terminus until the end of operations. Finally, bus lines 182, 183, 185 will cease operating from 8:30 a.m.

Also, in light of the major disruptions scheduled for July 25 on the RER C, passengers are urged to postpone their travel as much as possible.
