For Museums Night 2026, head to a charming, playful museum that will delight both children and adults alike. This Saturday, May 23, 2026, the Toy Museum opens its doors for free as part of this must-attend after-hours night.

Did you know that toys have their own museum? In Poissy, in the Yvelines department, the Musée du Jouet has been welcoming the curious since 1974, with the aim of showcasing a collection of 800 toys and games dating from Antiquity to the present day.

Housed in theformer royal priory of Saint-Louis, the collection explores the role of toys in the education of children and their psychomotor development, learning more about society's view of children, their introduction to the modern world and the evolving strategies of toy designers.

From early antique toys—baby rattles, toy cars, animals, dolls—on display thanks to a loan from the Louvre Museum, to the latest popular playthings, more than 600 items line the vitrines of this tiny 300 m² museum. It’s a treasure trove sure to inspire families seeking a fresh, cultural outing with the kids! And why not seize the Nuit des Musées to discover this unexpected venue?
