This year, the new edition of the Fête de la Musique is also taking place at the Guimet Museum in Paris. For the occasion, the stunning National Museum of Asian Arts invites you on a musical journey to South Korea. Here’s what to expect on Sunday, June 21, 2026.

The Fête de la musique is back every year on June 21, and this year celebrates its 43rd anniversary! As always, the Fête de la Musique is an opportunity to get out your instruments and sing your favorite tunes loud and clear in the street. But the event, established in 1982 at the instigation of then Minister of Culture Jack Lang, is also the perfect time to discover new talent or attend concerts by established artists. Every June 21, budding bands and artists take to the streets of Paris and the Ile-de-France region, while others bring the house down in concert halls, museums, churches and parks and gardens.

For a whole day, the Fête de la musique is an opportunity to celebrate music in all its forms (classical, jazz, rock, metal, rap, French variety, reggae, pop, zouk, electro...) in a spirit of joy and good humor!

This year, for the new Fête de la musique, why not celebrate this popular event in one of the capital's famous and sublime museums? The Musée Guimet, a cultural venue dedicated to Asian arts in the capital's 16th arrondissement, is taking part in the event with a concert that's an invitation to travel.

    Sunday, June 21, 2026 — 2:00 PM ⤏ 10:00 PM

The Guimet Museum invites you to explore contemporary Korean music in all its breadth, from K-Pop to alt sounds, and to discover the rhythms fueling today’s Korea.

Afternoon: the museum comes alive with K-Pop

In collaboration with Kick Café, the museum spaces open up to current beats: an open stage for dancing, K-Pop dance workshops led by choreographer Jooyoung Lee, a photobooth, karaoke, and music quizzes. A unique chance to learn the moves and dive into the colorful world of Korean pop, right amid the permanent collections.

Jooyoung Lee (Joo) is a choreographer, contemporary dancer, and educator based in Paris. She divides her artistic work between Korea and France. Trained in multiple disciplines—ballet, traditional Korean dance, jazz, and hip-hop—she draws on a wide range of choreographic languages. She holds a Master’s in Laban Movement Studies from the Conservatoire de Paris (CNSMDP), where she deepened her approach as a choreographer, educator, and movement analyst.

Evening: musical daring takes over the rooftop

To close the day in spectacular fashion, starting at 7 p.m., Chinabot, the label famed for exploring Asia’s most innovative music, takes command of the rooftop. Arexibo, HWXXNG, and Pal Hwang Dan, rising stars of the Korean scene, will keep the terrace buzzing into the night, with the Eiffel Tower lit up as a backdrop.

Arexibo, an interdisciplinary artist, musician, and DJ based in Seoul, is drawn to the “dance floor” as a fluid space rich with political meaning. She blends irregular rhythms with sharp textures to craft both explosive energy and experimental sensitivity. Her cinematic performances choreograph chaos through time, always guiding audiences toward new horizons. She released her debut EP “Counter!” on Chinabot in 2020. She is also part of the creative collective “The Internatiiional.”

HWXXNG (alias Jaeho Hwang) is a DJ and producer who splits his time between Europe and Seoul, bringing a distinctive sound fusion to the nightlife scene. As a producer, he reimagines traditional Korean instrumentation, integrating it seamlessly into forward-looking electronic compositions to push the boundaries of creativity. His DJ sets are acclaimed for their bold, unpredictable style, where industrial techno grooves collide with heavy bass and the raw energy of hard dance, meeting Latin Core rhythms, Post-Club avant-garde, and experimental textures from East Asian soundscapes.

Pal Hwang Dan, born Pal Boche, is a pop iconoclast living in Seoul since 2013. He draws inspiration from industrial music, K-Pop, and animation. He works as a composer for advertising and video game soundtracks. His first Chinabot album, Saneopseonjip, appeared in 2018, followed by A Length of Line in 2020. He has released three albums with Chinabot. With solid synth-pop hooks and a calm, romantic voice, he paints a portrait of modern life in Seoul marked by nostalgia, solitude, absurdity, and rampant consumerism.

    With Chinabot and Kick Café

Chinabot is a platform and collective created to advance the discourse around Asian music, supporting the international movement of innovative music from the Asian diaspora. Chinabot encompasses a record label, a design agency, an events promoter, roundtables, and a radio show.

Kick Café is Europe’s first concept store dedicated to Korean pop music. This café–boutique, founded in 2021 by Savannah Truong, regularly hosts events celebrating artists’ or groups’ anniversaries as well as Korean pop concerts.
