The outdoor cinema festival Cinéma Paradiso Louvre is back from July 1 to 4, 2026 in the Cour Carrée of the Louvre. Hosted by mk2 and the Louvre Museum, the event sits within the Etés du Louvre program. This sixth edition offers four free evenings mixing cinema, live music and festive experiences, all set in a landmark heritage site in the heart of Paris.
The Cour Carrée is transformed for the occasion into an open-air cinema complete with a giant screen, bars and food trucks. Staying true to its remit, the festival presents a program that pairs heritage cinema with contemporary works, augmented by concerts, musical performances and artist encounters. conceived as a rendezvous that's both popular and demanding, the event targets a broad audience eager to discover films in an exceptional setting.
The full lineup will be revealed in June 2026, when the free lottery to secure an invitation opens. Among the early highlights announced is the screening of Julie (In 12 Chapters) by Joachim Trier, the festival’s guest of honor for this edition. The filmmaker, honored at Cannes in 2021 for Renate Reinsve’s performance, has recently won the Best International Feature Oscar for Sentimental Value, also co-produced by mk2. His presence underscores the festival’s commitment to international contemporary cinema.
Free to attend with registration through an online lottery, Cinéma Paradiso Louvre is part of a summer lineup that blends open-air screenings, concerts and cultural happenings across different spaces of the museum—from the Cour Carrée to the Pyramid and the Tuileries Garden. The event targets film lovers, culture enthusiasts and those seeking collective outdoor experiences. It may be less suitable for audiences looking for a traditional indoor cinema experience or programming aimed at very young children.
The show will be staged in the Cour Carrée at the Louvre from July 1 to 4, 2026.
