Every year, the world of cinema takes center stage during the César Awards. This Thursday, February 26, 2026, the 51st edition of this prestigious event dedicated to French cinema unfolded on the legendary stage of the Olympia. Following a ceremony hosted by Camille Cottin and lively commentary by Benjamin Lavernhe, the César for Best Film 2026 was awarded to L'Attachement by Carine Tardieu.

Among the major favorites of the year, films by Richard Linklater and Carine Tardieu emerged victorious, each securing multiple César Awards. Linklater's New Wave took home four Cesars, including the prestigious 'Best Director' trophy, while Tardieu's Attachment earned three, highlighted by Vimala Pons's well-deserved 'Most Promising Actress' award. Stéphane Demoustier's The Unknown of La Grande Arche also made a strong showing, snagging two Cesars.

The event also featured a tribute to Brigitte Bardot. In a more relaxed moment, a Lifetime Achievement César was awarded to Jim Carrey in recognition of his entire career.
