King Kong in an animated series? No one expected it, but Netflix has announced the upcoming release of the Skull Island series, available on the streaming platform on June 22.
This animated series is the latest chapter in the MonsterVerse, which includes the films Godzilla and King Kong. Skull Island viewers can expect to see a host of monsters battling it out with the heroes over the course of the show's episodes, the entire season of which will be released online at once. Who knows, we might even see Godzilla!
In any case, fans of monsters and animation are in for a treat with this thrilling series.
Skull Island is part of Legendary Entertainment's MonsterVerse franchise, which began in 2014 with Gareth Edwards' Godzilla. The animated series will follow a crew stranded on a desert island who must escape the prehistoric monsters that inhabit it, including King Kong.
