A charming medieval town, an Impressionist stronghold and one of France's most beautiful detours, Moret-sur-Loing in Seine-et-Marne has it all! At the very end of summer, a film festival takes place here, with a host of exceptional free events, for three days dedicated to heritage cinema.
With screenings and reconstructions of film sets using period equipment, cinephiles and the curious will have plenty to enjoy at this 6th edition, which celebrates 130 years of cinema. For it was on December 28, 1895, that the Lumière brothers held the first paying public screening in the history of cinema.
From August 29 to 31, 2025, you can rediscover our cinematic heritage in a genuine film set, where you'll feel as if you've stepped back in time from the 1900s to the 1960s. On the program: exhibitions of vintage equipment and posters, evening film screenings, extras straight out of period films, cinema ushers, musicians, storytellers - all without spending a cent.
The all-volunteer festival, created in 2016, invites you to help preserve the collective memory of French cinema.
