The Paris Brazilian Film Festival returns for its 27th edition in the flamboyant setting of the Brazil-France 2025 Season, in the heart of the legendary Cinéma L'Arlequin, from April 29 to May 6, 2025. A week to immerse yourself in the thousand faces of bold, original and committed Brazilian cinema, between French premieres and passionate encounters.

The Paris Brazilian Film Festival joins the Brazil-France 2025 Season! From April 29 to May 6, 2025, cinephiles are invited to discover 30 Brazilian films - fiction and documentary - the vast majority of which have never before been released in France, or even in Brazil.

Screened in their original version with subtitles, these films offer a panorama of contemporary Brazilian creation, in all its geographical and narrative diversity. This immersive week will take place at the Cinéma L'Arlequin, an emblematic landmark for Parisian cinephiles, with a steady rhythm of screenings, debates and artistic encounters.

An immersion in a multiple Brazil, between struggles, rhythms and explosions

Are you passionate about auteur cinema, stories of struggle, complex human destinies, or simply looking for new cultural perspectives? This festival is for you. The themes addressed are vast and rooted in our times: environmental struggles, queer identities, collective memory, social injustices, family legacies, protest music... A cinema that, more than ever, lays Brazilian society bare, in all its tensions and beauties.

The presence of Dira Paes, a key figure in the Brazilian 7th art, and this year's guest of honor, reinforces this desire to share, alongside an impressive delegation of Brazilian actors, directors and producers. Alongside them, French personalities such as Marina Foïs, the festival's godmother, will help to promote the artistic friendship between the two countries.

Bold, resolutely contemporary programming

Among the highlights, don't miss Je suis toujours là, this year's Oscar-winning Brazilian film, shown for the first time in France. The 2025 edition is enriched by new partnerships, notably with the Gramado Festival - a benchmark for South American cinema - and Queerpalm, celebrating LGBTQIA+ identities on screen.

You'll also be able to take part in discussions with the filmmakers, take part in round-table discussions or simply let yourself be carried away by the evocative power of the big screen. The festival offers a veritable laboratory for reflection and emotion, at the crossroads of cinema and commitment.

Whether you're a fan of committed cinema, curious about contemporary Brazil, a student in search of cultural discoveries, or looking for an original outing to enjoy solo, as a couple or with friends, this festival is an invitation to openness and dialogue. The atmosphere is friendly, warm and passionate, conducive to chance encounters and spontaneous exchanges over a caipirinha or after a memorable screening.

Immerse yourself in Brazilian cinema as if in a waking dream, and let yourself be carried away by the richness of its stories and the power of its images. An event to be experienced, felt and shared. And how do you see Brazil after this experience?
